Philippine Airlines (PAL), the official flagship carrier of the Philippines and one of the world’s most respected airlines continues to grow. In June 2007, PAL relocated their executive offices to a new location. These vital offices were transferred to the PNB Financial Center located in Pres. Diosdado Macapagal Avenue, Pasay City. The relocation posed network challenges for this new location and PAL’s Maintenance Base Complex which was located at Andrews Avenue, Nichols, Pasay City. Despite being in the same city, the two offices were still in separate locations with considerable distance between them. In addition to this first challenge, the new site also needed a network infrastructure that will enhance its voice and data communications.

Logic Solutions, Inc. (LSI), the only Premium Business Partner of Alcatel-Lucent in the Philippines, offered a total solutions package for Philippine Airlines. For their IP-PABX requirement, LSI deployed the Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise, an integrated, interactive communications solution that combines traditional telephone functions with support for Internet-based telephony and multimedia communication. Network switches were also deployed in order to enhance PAL’s data network. In addition to this, LSI also designed and deployed an IP Radio Network which allowed smooth wireless connectivity between the two office sites.

Implementation started in 2007 and is continuously upgraded up to the present. Aside from supplying Alcatel-Lucent’s state of the art products, LSI also offered a total service package to Philippine Airlines. LSI was involved from the design, delivery, installation, and commissioning of the project, and even provided valuable technical support for PAL.

The project enabled PAL to maximize their existing network and reduce operational costs which in turn allow them to continue providing excellent service to travelers worldwide.
